Norfolk Island Vocational Education and Training (VET) Financial Assistance Initiative

From 2 January 2019, the Norfolk Island VET Financial Assistance Initiative starts to make it easier for Norfolk Island residents to access vocational training.

The initiative will reimburse Norfolk Island resident VET students the difference between the course fee they pay and the fee they would pay, for the same course, in another state or territory.

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities & Regional Development has partnered with PeoplePlus to deliver the Initiative and provide information to Norfolk Island residents on the financial support now available to them.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to receive financial assistance students must be:

  • 15 years or older
  • an Australian Citizen
  • a resident of Norfolk Island
  • not receiving any other Commonwealth or state or territory financial support towards the course (VET Student Loans are not considered financial support under this initiative).
