Norfolk Island Workers' Compensation Tender Release
The Australian Government is continuing to progress the transition of the Norfolk Island Workers’ Compensation Scheme to new arrangements, with an open Request for Tender (RFT) now live on AusTender (https://tenders.gov.au/).
The tender process will seek submissions for a workers’ compensation service provider that will administer the Scheme, providing claims management services to injured employees, and also collecting membership levies from employers.
The RFT will close in early February 2020 with new arrangements anticipated to commence from 1 July 2020.
A fact sheet about the changes to the Scheme can be found on the Department’s website at: www.regional.gov.au/territories/norfolk_island/ governance/workers-compensation.aspx. The fact sheet includes information about some minor changes to how claims are made and assessed.
In line with the Norfolk Island Community Engagement Framework, the Department will further inform the community when a new service provider is selected and outline what the changes will mean for you.
In the meantime, any questions or feedback can be sent through to NIworkerscompensation@infrastructure.gov.au. You are also welcome to contact my Office.
