Norfolk Island Passenger Air Services
Air New Zealand is the airline services carrier for Norfolk Island. Travel between Norfolk Island and mainland Australia is classed as domestic travel.
As the flights depart from Sydney and Brisbane International terminals, travellers are required to undergo Customs identity checks against their travel documentation on departure and on arrival at Norfolk Island and Australia.
A valid passport is the recommended method of identification (ID) for all overseas visitors as well as Australian citizens.
Other acceptable forms of photo ID are Australian issued drivers' licenses, departmental identity cards or an official document verifying your ID.
Minors (without ID) may travel accompanied by an adult with appropriate documentation. Unaccompanied minors (without ID) require their parent or guardian’s details to be recorded on the back of their boarding pass to assist with their identity verification at Customs processing.
Anyone travelling without a valid passport, or alternate form of photo ID, will experience delays at Customs. Duty free purchases and emergencies may also be affected.
