Albury Wodonga Regional Deal
The Minister for Regional Services, Sport, Local Government and Decentralisation, Senator the Hon Bridget McKenzie, announced a pilot Regional Deal for Albury Wodonga on 20 March 2019. The Minister’s media release is available here.
The Regional Deal is an opportunity to ensure that Albury Wodonga prospers over the next decade by supporting population growth and economic development while also ensuring it remains a nationally-significant, liveable and prosperous region.
Like the other Regional Deals, the Albury Wodonga Regional Deal will involve all three levels of government working together to help the region reach its maximum potential.
Local businesses, industry and the community will be engaged to ensure the Regional Deal reflects locally-identified priorities and the community’s aspirations for their region.
To support the development of the Regional Deal, the Australian Government will provide an initial investment of $3.2 million to support further strategic planning work with the local community.
