Regional Development Australia Fund—Round Five

Round Five of the Regional Development Australia Fund was announced on Wednesday 19 June 2013. Round Five will provide $150 million to eligible local governments, according to an allocative model, for capital infrastructure projects. Eligible local governments are those that received the General Purpose component of the local government Financial Assistance Grants in 2012–13.

Round Five Guidelines will be published on this website on 21 June 2013.

Applications for Round Five open on 21 June 2013 and close at 5.00 pm local time on 22 July 2013.

Applications will be assessed as they are received.

Top honours for local governments

Safer roads for motorcyclists in New South Wales and lessening the risk of future floods in Victoria have taken out the top honours in the 2013 National Awards for Local Government.

The Safer Motorcycle Routes project, a collaboration between Port Stephens, Maitland City and Dungog Shire Councils, aims to lessen the volume of motorcycle crashes on recreational routes throughout the New South Wales Hunter region.

Northern Grampians Shire Council found an innovative way to reduce the risk of future floods and improve community amenity with the Monash Steps/Stawell Steps project.

The National Awards for Excellence were announced by Prime Minister, Julia Gillard at the Australian Council for Local Government meeting held in Canberra.

Regional Development Australia Fund—Round Four

The announcement of projects to be funded under Round Four of the Regional Development Australia Fund has commenced. Announcements will be made progressively by Regional Development Australia (RDA) region. The projects will provide important infrastructure to address regional priorities as identified by Regional Development Australia committees.
